San Diego, CA – January 4, 2011 – Sarah Bashinski-Flament (Infinite Running), a University of Wisconsin-La Crosse alumni and a qualifier for the 2012 Olympic Marathon Trials, has announced that she will be coached by Andrew Kastor of Mammoth Lakes, CA in preparation for the upcoming trials. Recently recovered from a stress fracture which sidelined her for most of 2010, Sarah is healthy, feeling stronger and looking forward to a focused year of training and racing.
After taking a short hiatus from her post collegiate running career to start a family, Sarah found the competitive drive she had once felt in her earlier years of running. At 35 years old with a new appreciation for the sport, she is ready to challenge her lifetime PRs and take her athletic career to a new level. “With this being an important year due to the marathon trials quickly approaching, I am excited to be coached under Andrew Kastor. Talking with Andrew, he has a lot of energy and expertise that I think will benefit me and mesh well with my personality and training philosophy. I'm looking forward to this year being full of solid performances while remaining healthy and strong. Andrew will be a positive influence to make that happen!”
Agent Rob Hill (Infinite Running and Hill Development Group) was instrumental in finding a coach who is a perfect fit for this talented athlete from Poland, Ohio. Rob Hill said of the coaching change, "2010 was a rough year for Sarah, but we are expecting some great things this year. Sarah has made a smart decision to start working with Andrew Kastor in 2011. I am confident that the combination of Sarah's determination, raw talent, mental toughness and Coach Kastor’s experience will result in a year with personal bests and top performances that Sarah is more than capable of achieving.”
